Syllabus #56
Here we are. Here are some things:
This is important.
When corporations get their customers involved with charitable giving, are there ulterior motives? Also, if you are spending so much money at Sephora, you probably have a few bucks sitting around that you can donate on your own.
Protests and the pandemic - “There’s a direct connection between the high COVID burden and structural racism.”
This was amusing. Sometimes it's okay to take two minutes to laugh at something silly and weird.
Listening:
This week's episode of Throwing Shade was a good 'wake up, white people' vehicle. Loads of suggestions for ways we can educate ourselves and take action to be anti-racists and engage in allyship
Analog Reading:
Finished Baby You're Gonna Be Mine by Kevin Wilson.
Halfway through The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel. I'm enjoying it for its own sake but I feel like I'm cheating or avoiding something important by not reading something that I can learn from in this particular moment.
